ACC Partnership programme

ACC covers all businesses in New Zealand, providing workplace insurance and other services under the Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation & Compensation Act 2001. In order to both promote injury prevention and to reward success, ACC have developed some incentive programmes. More information can be obtained from ACC on www.acc.co.nz.

ACC Partnership Programme is aimed at larger organisations that have the financial backing and the resources to take over some or all of the management of workplace injuries.  An annual audit against the ACC audit standards for Safety Management Practices and Injury Management is required. Verification New Zealand Ltd has a number of approved auditors with extensive experience in auditing for the Partnership Programme.

ACC premium discounts are available where your business meets certain criteria and is verified as meeting programme guidelines by an independent auditor.

Before being accepted into the ACC Partnership Programme, your business must:

  • Demonstrate long-term financial stability and the ability to meet the cost of work-related injuries
  • Have active workplace safety systems and processes in place
  • Have active injury management procedures in place, including claims administration and rehabilitation support
  • Demonstrate the involvement of employees and their representatives in workplace safety
  • Meet the programme audit standards for workplace safety and injury management and be able to demonstrate a commitment to injury prevention

Application is through ACC at (www.acc.co.nz) or your local ACC office. Once you have been accepted into the programme contact VNZ and we undertake the independent audit on behalf of ACC. Employers and ACC share the cost of the audit, according to pre-set limits of approximately 50% of total costs.  The auditor provides a full written report to ACC and to you. ACC make the final decisions regarding the programme and your level of participation in it.

Verification NZ is a leading provider of ACC independent audits. Our auditors are fully conversant with the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
