ACC Workplace Safety Management Practices Programme
The ACC Workplace Safety Management Practices programme is specifically aimed at medium sized businesses with $10,000 annual ACC premiums and above, but all business may apply. Where a business puts in place systems and processes that promote injury prevention ACC can, following a successful audit, provide 10%, 15% or 20% discount off their workplace ACC premiums.
To apply contact ACC (www.acc.co.nz) or your local ACC office. You can ask for a copy of the WSMP criteria or download the information from the ACC website.
Once your application has been accepted by ACC, contact us to undertake your audit. VNZ has a number of qualified auditors approved by ACC to carry out WSMP audits. The auditor will write a formal report on their findings and send it to ACC. A copy will also be provided to you. ACC will let you know whether you have been accepted into the programme and what level of discount you will receive. ACC will pay the full cost of the audit plus the cost of a pre-assessment by their injury prevention consultants if you wish. ACC will select the sites to be audited.
Audits are normally completed every two years. To maintain the discount you will need to reapply every two years.
