RAIL SAFETY SYSTEMS AUDITS
Operators of railways must meet the requirements of the Railways Act 2004, administered by Land Transport New Zealand. Rail operators include industrial sites with a rail siding, heritage operators all the way up to the national rail operator(s).
Applications for a Rail Service Licence are made to LTNZ. They will require the submission of a Safety Case document, outlining the major policies related to rail safety and a detailed analysis of hazards faced by staff or the public involved in the rail operation.
LTNZ are required to pay our auditor directly, although they will recover the audit cost and the annual rail service fee directly from you.
